Hi, my name is Jamiel T Burkhart. I'm a NYC based actor, singer, and producer. I've been performing and working in the entertainment industry for as long as I could remember and I can't imagine doing anything else. From dance classes when I was younger as well as working in the circus arts to various theater classes in high school and beyond, my passion for the arts has only continued to grow! Taking on a leadership role at MilkyWay Theater Company as the Artistic Producer, I've worked to bring new original work from up-and-coming artists to the forefront. 

Last year, I was seen Off-Broadway at the New Victory Theater in Hip Hop Cinderella as the Prince & Runka U/S, as well as dance captain and most recently seen as Trey Vanderkamp in the World Premiere of Miss Maybelline's Nocturnal Flights of Fancy at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse. Since graduating from the Fame School with a major in theater, some of my favorite credits include Titanic (Frederick Fleet), A Symphony For Portland (Aaron), Comedy of Errors (Dromio), Rock of Ages (Ja’Keith Gill/Mayor), Cabaret (Herr Schultz), Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince/the Wolf), Rent (Angel Dumonte Shunard), Pippin (Pippin/Lewis), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Caiaphas). Catch me in Rent this November at the Rockaway Theatre Company as "Benny".

I pride myself on passion, joy, and authenticity, with just a hint of wild spontaneity. When I'm not working on various projects, you can catch me at the movie theater, in my bed sleeping, traveling, or playing Zelda.  I love using my unique perspective to keep learning about my craft and perfecting my artistry, while supporting the development of new projects and new voices in my producing endeavors.
