Hi, my name is Jamiel T Burkhart. I'm a NYC based actor, singer, and producer. I've been performing and working in the entertainment industry for as long as I could remember and I can't imagine doing anything else. From dance classes when I was younger as well as working in the circus arts to various theater classes in high school and beyond, my passion for the arts has only continued to grow! Taking on a leadership role at MilkyWay Theater Company as the Artistic Producer, I've worked to bring new original work from up-and-coming artists to the forefront. Currently writing a new musical entitled Underneath the Concrete Jungle with my best friend Aidan Arbona, stay tuned for some exciting updates on that!

Last year, I was seen as Trey Vanderkamp in the World Premiere of Miss Maybelline's Nocturnal Flights of Fancy at the Martha's Vineyard Playhouse and most recently as Kimba, Yohan, and Toy Bear in the recent Off-Broadway hit Mr. Puppy the Musical. Since graduating from the Fame School with a major in theater, some of my favorite credits include Hip Hop Cinderella (Prince & Runka U/S), Hair the Musical (Hud), Rent (Benjamin Coffin the 3rd), Titanic (Frederick Fleet), A Symphony For Portland (Aaron), Comedy of Errors (Dromio), Rock of Ages (Ja’Keith Gill/Mayor), Cabaret (Herr Schultz), Into the Woods (Cinderella's Prince/the Wolf), Rent (Angel Dumonte Shunard), Pippin (Pippin/Lewis), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Caiaphas).

I pride myself on passion, joy, and authenticity, with just a whole lot of wild abandon. When I'm not working on various projects, you can catch me at the movie theater, in my bed sleeping, traveling, or playing with my 2 year old mini dachshund named Minnie, like the mouse.  I love using my unique perspective to keep learning about my craft and perfecting my artistry, while supporting the development of new projects and new voices in my producing endeavors.
